Wigan vs Arsenal: Preview + Free Live Streaming Links

Preview:
It's been a roller-coaster season so far - even one result acts as a catalyst, turning the traditional 'In Arsene We Trust', to a harsh 'Wenger Out', or in most cases this season, vice-versa. It's been a disappointing season so far on the whole, but with quite a few bright spots in between; Santi Cazorla's brilliant displays early on, the Bould defence, the rout against Spurs, and the comeback against Reading. Then there's the losses against United, Chelsea, Schalke, Norwich, Olympiakos, and the dreadful, frustrating spells of Gervinho and Chamakh. To top the disappointment off - a League Cup exit at the hands of League Two side Bradford City.

Before the Wigan game, there's not too many statistics in favor of the Latics, except that their only four wins thus far have come against teams from the South. They're on a horrible run, languishing in the relegation zone, but the bright side is that they're better off than they normally are at this point. Roberto Martinez always seems to step it up in the second half of the season, beating United last season, effectively deciding the Premier League in favor of City.

Arsenal haven't struggled too much against them in previous seasons - the only exception coming at the DW in 2010, when a comeback in the last 10 minutes by the home side stunned the Gunners. All in all, there should be no reason to believe that they could pull off an upset again. December's traditionally a bad month for Wigan, and a good one for Arsenal. However, if there's one thing this season's taught us - it's that absolutely anything can happen. Unpredictability has been the order of the past four months, and you could expect more of the same today.

Predicted Lineup:
Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla; Podolski, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Predictions:

Bradford City vs Arsenal: Preview + Free Live Streaming Links (Capital One Cup)

Preview:
A trip to the 'Valley Parade' for a Capital One Cup Quarter Final on a Tuesday night, 126 years after the club played it's first match, ever. Picturesque.

Arsenal go to Bradford City, on the back of an impressive 2-0 win at Emirates, against West Brom. Their Capital One Cup record this season reads "6-1, 7-5" - perhaps it's time to take the third set in spectacular fashion as well. They find themselves in the quarter-finals, the only 'big' team besides Chelsea, thanks to a breathtaking comeback from 4-0 down, against Reading at the Madejski in October. In their ranks are the competition's top scorer, and the competition's assist-er (?), Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin respectively. That, coupled with facing a League Two side, points to a place in the semi-final.

You'd expect the team to be a mashup of fringe players and academy players, just like the one that was fielded at Reading, but don't be surprised to see a rather experienced lineup. Wenger hinted at fielding a few first team players, citing the duration of the break till the next match (on Monday, coincidentally against Reading) as reason to do so. Olivier Giroud is out, with a back injury that he suffered against West Brom, while Walcott remains on the sidelines. At the back, Santos and Koscielny remain unavailable, along with Abou Diaby.

You could expect a lineup similar to that fielded in Greece against Olympiakos. I think Squillaci, Meade and Coquelin will find themselves in the starting lineup, while Arshavin is likely to start in what could be one of his final appearances for Arsenal, ahead of a possible permanent move back to Russia. Rosicky should get a run out as well - he played 45 minutes last week, and just a few more as a substitute over the weekend. Here's my predicted lineup:
